the chroma plateau by numina
A bit surprised Numina didn’t come up on the MB search engine. https://www.cue-records.com/images/c...es/numina2.jpg He’s been running on heavy rotation for me for so long I kind of assumed he had a stronger presence. He deserves it. https://d2rbodpj0xodc.cloudfront.net...f-320x480.jpeg Maybe it’s for the best. |
Lawrence English just published a lovely little writeup in FACT Mag up examining Ambient Music at 40 for the 40th anniversary of Airports. It's a really nice feature on the musical philosophy of the genre and where it's headed.

Landmarks by Celer and Forest Management
https://celer.bandcamp.com/album/landmarks Well I just melted into this one. Definitely made out of the type of sounds I like to hear. |
Seriously looking forward to Alva Noto and Ryuichi Sakamoto's latest collaborative effort, Glass due out Feb 16th. I've loved all their previous projects.

John B. McLemore, Tor Lundvall – Witness Marks: The Works of John B. McLemore

Possibilities Vol. 1 by Tobias Reber + Erik Emil Eskildsen released February 7, 2018 Erik Emil Eskildsen - guitar, electronics Tobias Reber - synths, electronics I was thinking I’d write up a description of the interplay between the two musicians which sounded pretty interesting. Then the right thing happened: I fell asleep. I woke up and it was going still and I thought pretty standard drone stuff but I really like it. Then I woke up again and it was over. Obviously, great for a lazy day. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DVP0Hxsc7R...eping-face.jpg ?/? Stars sorry guys Still recommended |
Unity by Bruno Sanfilippo
Argentine composer, Bruno Sanfilippo, has been one of my favorite neo-classical ambient composers for some time. This very recent release is an excellent traditionally expressive addition to his discography. A likely candidate for 2018 AOTY lists. |
