If you were a stripper, what would your signature song be?

The strip club would be full of lawn decorations.

I've thought about this a LOT actually. It would partly depend on the place, I think. (Is it a hipster strip club in Portland, Oregon or some tiny seedy Lynchian club buried in the pines of east Texas? These things matter) The song would need to be jarring enough for your average crowd to forget about my lack of flexibility/poor stripper dancing skills. If the strip club allowed me to be like the stripper version of Marina Abramović in this scenario then probably a Diamanda Galas song or the French version of Blume by Einstürzende Neubauten. (In that ideal scenario, I'd appear on stage in a floor-length red lace mantilla veil holding a cow skull filled with bees and then go from there. Oooh and there's a Swans song that would go super well with that.)
Otherwise: ...ooOoor a Throbbing Gristle song maybe? Or Gary Numan's Berserker? Really depends on which alternate daydream universe this is happening in. |

at your question, Oriphiel!
That Deep Purple song starts so well, but goes off the boil pretty quick imo, and I guess for a strip act that's not the effect you particularly want. I think I'd go for something with a clear crescendo, like Ravel's Bolero, although that would soon turn into an endurance test for dancer and audience alike. Also, I just don't wear enough clothes to keep that piece of music going - well, I suppose I could start with overcoat, woolly hat, gloves.... ^ I am quite deliberately resisting any thoughts in that direction, tbh.
