Default Jukebox format

I would like to know what audio format a jukebox can use.

I have volunteered to provide some music CD's for the jukebox at my Legion branch, (I have an extensive vinyl collection). I play in a darts league there and they love the jukebox.

The software I have to create music CD's, (Roxio LP and Tape Assistant), takes a lot of time and effort to create a CD and I want to be sure I'm creating the correct format to play in the jukebox.

I have tried searching for what format to use but I keep getting information about a software product called Jukebox.

The guy who loads the jukebox says to use standard CD audio format, which I believe is .cda, but I'm not sure that format is available with the software I have.

I am prepared to buy whatever software I need to do this if Roxio can't.

Any direction is appreciated. Thanks in advance. ...george

Wow, what a bizarre dilemma.

I mean, I'm no CD jukebox expert, but I'm guessing the jukebox, under all the bells and whistles, has a CD reader/laser like you would find in any ole CD player. So if your CDs work in a standard player, I think they should be fine...

Surely the most obvious thing to do would be to burn one disc, maybe a CD-RW, try it in the jukebox, and if it works, cool. If not, ask whoever's in charge if they know what it plays. Failing that, take the details off the jukebox and see if you can get in touch with the manufacturer. Or join a forum that specialises in jukeboxes and ask there.

CD-R (not CD-RW) with uncompressed files (aiff or wav) on 72 or 80 minute discs should work fine.
16-bit/44.1kHz resolution as well. Some newer jukeboxes will play mp3 files,
but I wouldn't assume that's the case here.

I suggested rewriteable so that he wouldn't have to waste a full disc on test, but ok.

Not all systems that accept CD-R discs accept CD-RW, so the machine could've read it as not functional and the person may have then given up.

For just a millisecond I read that as "not functional and the machine could have blown up"!!! Sorry, stated my logic but it was obviously faulty.

OK. I will try .wav on a CD-R and report back. It might take a couple of weeks as I don't know how often the owner of the jukebox shows up. Thanks everyone. ...george
