Yeah, donkey folk singing is cool, but I think if you gave them a fair shot, you'd be down with vocal pop and garage rock as well.

The whole appeal of the sixties sound is the merging of harmony and cacophony for an interesting, full bodied sound. It's the grit, lust, emotion, and darkness of the blues, mixed with the sweet innocence of old school pop. It's a driving beat that is equally at home in the dance hall as it is in the bedroom, as well as in back alley brawls. It's The Beatles holding your hand, and then ditching you when they see someone better standing there. It's The Kinks asking you to set them free, then having fun with you all day and all of the night.

Try some songs like Je N'attens Plus Personne by Francoise Hardy, The Hurtin' Kind by The Bittersweets, Sweet and Tender Romance by The McKinleys, and Laisser Tomber les Filles by France Gall, and maybe you'll start to warm up to The Like (pretty sure you're already down with Hardy, but I'm guessing you prefer her later work).

Because s/he owes me. I already made it clear I wasn’t fit to speak for myself and I needed help.
