Default Favourite Albums of the Decade So Far!?

before anyone gets their panties in a bunch, this thread is just for speculating, brain storming, and having fun talking about the past decade in music. of course we still have 2018 and 2019 left but i think we're far enough in that was start to discuss some of our favourites, and even some albums that we anticipate will be regarded as classics. i'm snowed in again and i have a lot of time on my hands ok?

anyway, i picked 25. placed them in an order but i don't know that there's any i prefer over the others mentioned, all just phenomenal albums imo.

i think it's incredibly difficult to assemble a list for this and will only get harder once the decade is actually over, but this is like a rough draft of sorts.

1. Ceremony - The L Shaped Man (2015)
2. Converge - All We Love We Leave Behind (2012)
3. Cloud Nothings - Attack On Memory (2012)
4. Death Grips - Exmilitary (2011)
5. La Dispute - Wildlife (2011)
6. AJJ - Knife Man (2011)
7. El-P - Cancer 4 Cure (2012)
8. Deafheaven - Sunbather (2013)
9. Carly Rae Jepsen - Emotion (2015)
10. Title Fight - Hyperview (2015)
11. Coffinworm - IV.I.VIII (2014)
12. The Front Bottoms - The Front Bottoms (2011)
13. Milo - So the Flies Don't Come (2015)
14. Ghostbath - Moonlover (2015)
15. Liturgy - Aesthetica (2011)
16. Gridlink - Longhena (2014)
17. Gaza - No Absolutes in Human Suffering (2012)
18. Sufjan Stevens - Carrie & Lowell (2015)
19. Danny Brown - XXX (2011)/Atrocity Exhibition (2016) (XXX was always my favourite, but lately thinking AE might be more deserving of the spot)
20. Run the Jewels - Run the Jewels 2 (2015)
21. Forteresse - Theme pour la rebellion
22. Xiu Xiu - Plays the Music of Twin Peaks (2016)
23. The Tallest Man On Earth - The Wild Hunt (2010)
24. Days n' Daze - Rogue Taxidermy (2013)
25. Joyce Manor - Joyce Manor (2011)

didn't realize how rad of a year 2011 was until i put this together.

In no f*cking order because I ain't got time for that stress. They're just in descending order of release date.

Also, I'm omitting 2017 titles as to not spoil my Top 50 for whenever the f*ck I finish it.

Jherek Bischoff - Cistern (2016)
Sturgill Simpson - A Sailor's Guide to Earth (2016)
David Bowie - ★ [Blackstar] (2016)
Courtney Barnett - Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit (2015)
Sufjan Stevens - Carrie & Lowell (2015)
Pretend - Tapestry'd Life (2015)
Creepoid - Creepoid (2014)
Swans - To Be Kind (2014)
Cloud Nothings - Here and Nowhere Else (2014)
Anti-Lilly & Phoniks - Stories From the Brass Section (2014)
Kayo Dot - Hubardo (2013)
Deafheaven - Sunbather (2013)
BADBADNOTGOOD - BBNG2 (2012)
Creepoid - Horse Heaven (2011)
L'Orange - The Mad Writer (2012)
Swans - The Seer (2012)
alt-J - An Awesome Wave (2012)
Cloudkicker - Beacons (2010)
Daughters - Daughters (2010)

Bring on the alt-j hate. They made a fantastic album. The rest is garbage. Sue me.

I'm still covering 1979 in my grand quest for my own top 25s (and that's probably going to be slowing up as I get into newer territory).

But these are the albums the wow me this decade so far...

Sleeper- Ty Segall (2013)
The Like- Release Me (2010) (Stay tuned for the Album Club soon)
Johnny Cash- American VI- Ain't No Grave (2010)
PJ Harvey- Let England Shake (2011)
Girls- Father Son Holy Ghost (2011)
Beach House- Bloom (2012)
David Bowie- The Next Day (2013)
Sufjan Stevens- Carrie and Lowell (2015) (we agree on one album Qwert )
Father John Misty- I Love You Honeybear (2015)
David Bowie- Blackstar (2016)
PJ Harvey- The Hope Six Demolition Project (2016)
Granddaddy- Last Place (2017)
Conor Oberst- Salutations (2017)

And that's my list and I'm sticking to it.

Shout out to Q as well for having the cajones to list "The L-Shaped Man" as his favorite album this decade or one of his favorites. Pathetic, yet brave.
