And even if he hadn't burnt out and become incapable of performing anymore, the team of Waters and Gilmour had taken over and didn't need him.

Not that they were happy about the decision *cough* WYWW.

Experimenting with drugs isn't the same as frying yourself out on them.

Nah, they definitely could've needed him. WYWH is a great example of that.

Says you. All of the classic 70's albums would have suffered with Barrett trying to elbow in on Waters' amazing visions.

Don't take Roger's word for it. I think Waters obviously did a lot for the band, but I think that Syd could have brought them to further levels and brought some more flavours to the picture than were already there. Major what if because I think he would have gone weird with schizophrenia regardless, but I don't think he would detract from it.

I'm really not able to put together a top 5, well, bottom 5, but I do believe that it would include the murder of Dimebag Darrell.

So who apart from Dimebag and Lennon were assassinated? I think Dime might be the only mass shooting.

Being murdered in personal disputes etc doesn't count just for the sake of the topic.

If Barrett was so fried why is his solo work so Brilliant?

Floyd is great band but God we’re they a bunch of dicks. They pull a runner on Syd and then always claim it was some bull**** acid overdose. They were right in the heart of LSD culture and then use it as an excuse for ditching the dude that wrote their original hits. Then they treat Richard Wright like a hired hand. They were absolute pricks.

They should’ve kept Pink. It was wrong what they did.

He didn't have to work with a whole band.
