Bands similar to Brand New but who arent pedophiles

HELLO.

I come here in search of a band similar to Brand New in terms of songlyrics and writing-style whatever you call it and preferably musically as well with which I refer mainly to their albums that came after the first one so kind of dark, gloomy and emotional but still rock. It has to be a NON-PROBLEMATIC band as far as everyone knows. Some other bands I listen to are Muse, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Biffy Clyro, Royal Blood, MCR, just some examples to give a clue as to what my taste in music is.
