Cab looks classy. The Blues Brothers backing band had Donald Duck Dunn and Stever Cropper. They played in Booker T and the MGs which was also the studio band for Stax. They back artists like Otis Redding. Rufus was another Stax artist. He did the Wattstax concert in '73 along with The Bar-Kays, Iscaac Hayes, Albert King and others. The Rolling Stones did a cover of Rufus Thomas' Walking the Dog.

In my opinion, it's pretty hard to beat this Eddie Cochran song:

^ This does a great job of conjuring up a more innocent era for American teenagers, which is why I was all the more surprised to hear, at 00:20:

"I bet my penis to a candy bar
You'll be cuter than a movie star."

:yikes: Please prove me wrong!

Here's a novelty song from 1925 which was revived by The Andrews Sisters as the fifties turned into the sixties. I used to enjoy hearing their version on the radio as a kid, but here we are, going back to the source:-

Merle Haggard was a beast of a miserable country artist.
