Just remember that lyrics aren't music. Not expecting you to explore their discography or anything, but if you did I imagine you'd be surprised at their musical development over a full decade. You might not appreciate it, but you'd probably be surprised at least.

Why in the name of the good lord **** should I care what Groening has to say? Sure, he likes it. I do not. I know my own tastes: I seldom, if ever, hear an album I hate and end up liking it. Almost never. It's not going to happen, no matter how many times you beat me over the head with this album, so just drop it. Not. Interested. End of.

If you say "The gateway to [insert band]" once more I'm going to ignore your posts. I am NOT looking to get into any artist (the above I know in any case, they're not new to me and I hated Johnny ****ing Burnette's song) but genres. So if you want to say "the gateway to [insert genre here]" fine, but stop using artists as frigging gateways. It's really annoying, all right? Genres, people. I don't know why this is so hard to grasp: it's in the ****ing title of the thread, after all...

The Rock n Roll Trio. I think it is one of the great Rock n Roll albums of the fifties.

Actually the original version was recorded by Tiny Bradshaw in 1951. that version really rocks.

You all dismiss music for pointless reasons that demonstrate a lack of will to challenge yourselves. But no, neither of them would make your thread where you ignore multiple releases.

I'm just trying to get you to understand how common it is for people to hate the album on their first listen and grow to love it after multiple listens. It's just the nature of the album in that you need to familiarize yourself with what's even happening on the record, to learn the language, before you're even capable of trying to dissect and understand it enough to know hiw much you enjoy it. It was my experience, it was Groening's experience, it was the experience of many Beefheart fans. It's fine if you think I'm annoying but you're being stupid for not humouring the fact (yes, fact) that something can grow on you because of that. I don't care if you don't like it, but if you're really going to tell me that you're open minded when it comes to music, you should demonstrate that by giving music the chance it deserves.

I wouldn't tell you that a WISSK or Peter Brötzmann album can grow on you, this album is very special in that aspect. There's a reason I keep hammering this point.
