It has to be a 10 from me.
I'm going to do this like I do the album club: My subjective reaction to/feelings about the album. I'm not a member of some panel about to create some official music canon. Not saying you approach is wrong, just that I don't get the need for it, given the circumstances.

You judging it more on it's cultural/historical position than your own personal enjoyment of it. That's the sort of approach to rating the album I would take if I had to rate it as a music historian, not as a common pleb voting on the album on some internet forum.

Not that it matters.

That post was primarily in reference to FL' post.

It's a 9 from me for the enjoyment factor and a 10 considering the influence it had.

I don't think I value context more than my own enjoyment, but it's definitely worth considering when talking about what makes a classic.

I don't really disagree with that, but in most cases, I wouldn't have anything weighty to add to that side of the discussion. If I don't have some deep personal investment in and knowledge of the artist/genre in question, I'm not going to have anything to say that isn't entirely subjective.

So basically, I think Occult Hawk is going to have a conniption when I finally post my opinion on Kind of Blue.

That's just a rumour: Occult doesn't have a heart.

I always thought this was such a ****ing boring album beyond So What which is absolutely incredible so I have to give it a 6 just for that.
