I would have agreed with you last year, but since my album thread has brought me more in contact with hip-hop I've started respecting it a lot more. I'll give it another go.

I’ll still give it high marks. 7 or 8. It’s just **** compared to the potential he showed with ADHD. I honestly think he got conservative meticulously cultivating his sound for the critics and backtracking on his real radical nature especially when he refused to hold firm on his decision not to vote. I think that reeling in of his attitude sadly cost us as fans.

I think we’re coming from totally different ends of the spectrum. I’ve loved hip hop pretty much going back to its origin.

We are, but perhaps that's a good thing, as I'm basically a blank slate. For instance, your quote about his withholding his right to vote or whatever means nothing to me, so I will just judge this album (second time to hear but first with a properly open mind) on its own merits, and not using anything else as a yardstick.

Unless you have a link showing that the album was released as such, no. The Field Hippies are a different group.

Okay, my mistake sort of. However, The United States of America is indeed Joe Byrd's work. His following album, the American Metaphysical Circus, is credited to Joseph Byrd and the Field Hippies.
