Default who's the weirdest character in music?

Who would you say is the biggest character in music history? I’m emphasizing rock n roll obviously, but you can mention anyone in any genre.

For me I’ll start off with Kim Fowley. He is most famous for forming and managing the Runaways, but he was something of a self-promoter from the sixties until his death in 2015. He rubbed elbows with Sonny and Cher, Phil Spector (talk about characters), and would manage and/or produce bands like St. John Green and Venus and the Razorblades. He also recorded some albums and singles including this gem off his 1968 album, Outrageous. A character to be sure.

Okay, so who else is out there that borders on the bizarre?

So are we talking genuinely bizarre artists or artists who perform as a character?

I probably worded the title wrong. I'm definitely talking about bizarre characters, you know like this guy...

Good pick, Frown. I didn't think of him

It can be anyone in the music industry though. Somebody seen as eccentric basically. It could be a musician (and most will be), a producer, manager, even a hanger on. There has to be hundreds of weirdos out there.

I thought you meant characters in songs, as in, Ziggy, Eleanor Rigby, JFK etc.
Anyhow, now that's cleared up, surely Beefheart has to be a contender?

Nope. But certainly qualifies as eccentric. Surprised you didn't mention him.

The way he abused his bandmates and had bad acid trips is pretty different but Fischer is above and beyond. Take five minutes to let him tell you his story in the video I posted.
