a lot of people dislike blackgaze because it trades the raw cacophonous sound for some really beautiful moments, but i assumed you’re the type of listener who would actually appreciate that aspect of it. glad i assumed right
You sure did.
I was asking that, if I loved this would I love Deafheaven too? Never got an answer but went ahead and downloaded.

i would go ahead and say yes. deafheaven are basically the pinnacle (in terms of popularity) in blackgaze. Sunbather or New Bermuda should be right up your alley.

Have you listened to Alcest yet? I feel like you have.

How about we try to get this going again, maybe on a regular basis? No Secret Santa of course, but just one person recs an album to another and that person listens to and reviews it here. No? Anyone interested? I thought this was a lot of fun even when I was really too busy to do it, and now, well, I'm not.

Frown still hasn't reviewed the one I gave him last time...

But yeah, I'd be down for another round!

Cathedral - The Guessing Game

It's what I imagine all metal sounds like to elphenor. I do remember there being some interesting song progressions but the vocals just killed me man.

Better late than never!

Kinda weird than I'm so forgiving about Lee Dorrian's vocals, considering how I usually react to that approach to singing.

Now I want to hear what Elph thinks about it!
Would it be his gateway into metal or would it make him puke up his intestines?

If I can't take it then elphenor should just avoid it for his own good.
