Is it the self-righteousness of this man that makes most of you hate U2's music? I mean, "New Year's Day", "The Unforgettable Fire", "Where the Streets Have No Name" ... these are all great songs. You don't agree? And I say this not being a fan as I already mentioned, so don't give me **** as a fanboy.
I'm not familiar with those particular songs, save for the few notes of the phrase, "...where the streets have no name." I was never really anywhere where I would have been exposed to U2's music in the 80s or 90s. I'd have to research them and get back to you.

In early 2010, Bono penned a New York Times editorial in which he explicitly called on Western nations to produce Chinese-style national firewalls to protect fledgling artists’ incomes. He wrote, “But we know from America’s noble effort to stop child pornography, not to mention China’s ignoble effort to suppress online dissent, that it’s perfectly possible to track content online."

F*uck you, Bono.
They sued SST over the Negativland stunt. I hated them for that. I used to love SST Records almost as much as I loved my favorite bands.

Musically they did have some respectable moments though.

Sometimes you have to overlook the fact that somebody does something unlikable or worse and appreciate the music or other pieces of art. In my case, it would be in film with Woody Allen. I love even his most recent films but I'm still disgusted about the whole Soon-Yi thing.

Is this the right place to come out as a huge ABBA fan?

I'd love an offer from Waterloo right now, tbh.
