^I'm not sure what I'll think about this when I give it more of a close listen. I only know Moyet by name so far. But I just wanted to say that I actually really dig this sort of synth sound. There's just a feeling to it that I like.

Depends on the instrument, for me. A lot of those synths sound fine today, but a handful just don't appear outside the 80s, and as such, really pin an album to a particular point in time.

I like my music and stories to be timeless in their construction--I don't even like Christmas films or songs because they're so closely tied to one season.

I look at that very differently. To me, it's kind of amazing when music does not sound timeless, but super much "of its time". I love how different times in different genres had these little moments where a certain aesthetic caught the imagination of many artists and producers.

Was listening to a Judie Tzuke album earlier today and I loved how much it exactly didn't sound like anyone would have made that in 2018. I think it can lend a lot of personality to an album if the production is dated - as long as it isn't handled super unimaginatively.

And every December, I do listen to some christmas music. I've got that old Mariah Carey christmas album on CD for when I get the itch

I don't even like songs that aren't Christmas songs, but which refer to Christmas or mention it by name.

The weirdest part is that I love Christmas.

So she's about Yggdrasil. Let's decorate a tree.
