I do remember Alice Cooper. I think basically he was more of an entertainer than anything else. His shock concerts no doubt helped him to sell records. This was in the days long before MTV so a lot of what we heard about Alice Cooper was by word of mouth. Some of it may have been very well embellished like the incident where Ozzy Osbourne purportedly bit off the head of a dove (he did in fact decapitate a bat accidentally)

Note to Trollheart: Alice Cooper was doing golf photo ops around 1974 or 1975. There was a short write up in Circus magazine that I remember. Like I said, I'm not sure if had a picture with Crosby but it was definitely feasible.

I had a feeling that you wouldn’t have anything substantial to say but you still failed to meet expectations.

I'm not really a fan of either, but I like some songs from both. Some early Alice Cooper material is quite good, but so is the Holy Wood album from Manson. I'm going with Cooper because I think songs like Desperado, Schools Out and No More Mr Nice Guy are just great, classic rock songs. Manson is a bit more of a try hard and the best thing about him has really been the talents of his collaborators. Everyone that made Holy Wood sound so ****ing awesome left after that album, so... It's not really Manson himslef that I'm impressed by. Cooper got boring too. The 80's destroyed his musical appeal.

Okay, I couldn't find one with Bing Crosby, but here is one with Fred Astaire

God damn it I seem to remember that I had something to say about this but I can't remember so hopefully give me time (they're ICP so they'll always be a meme and always will try to be). All I'll say is that give Hell's Pit a shot before you pass complete judgement. They had their moment of being more hip hop, but they were still ICP so... I don't know. But that album was still their best showing as a hip hop group. But it also had a really great showing as a justification of horrorcore as a genre itself, while also being what ICP's thematic concept could be at its darkest. Not expecting you to love it or anything, but at least it'll hopefully affect your opinion of ICP as a group with no creativity. It's one of the most idiosyncratic hip hop albums I've ever heard by a wide margin and is worth hearing.

Just one ****ing album, so don't be TH.

i’ll listen to it. i never said they weren’t creative btw, i was mainly just drawing the distinction between casual fans and juggalos and why they’re a meme.

i think the best way to put it is that i don’t think it’s necessarily ICP that are the meme, because they don’t try be something else, it’s their fans that are memes.

Yeah, their fans are absolute garbage, and their pandering to their fans hampers their creativity for real, but they can seriously rise above that garbage, and Hell's Pit is really the best and last last time they really rose above the juggalo garbage. It isn't a totally brilliant album, but when it is brilliant it is what ICP truly could have been if the juggalo thing had never happened and they had been allowed to evolve into what they could have been.

This is seriously one of the most unique hip hop tracks I've ever heard and is amazing to me. It's got all the theatricality of ICP at their best, with none of the pandering, and barely any Shaggy (the backing rapper who's basically a hype man otherwise on any other ICP album but who had little place on this album).

Edit: Honestly I think I could give you a mix **** of ICP that doesn't suck that does the theatric **** that might be worth more to you than any ICP album.

Oh right. I must have read your post wrong. I thought you said Manson was seen with Crosby.

Dude their fanbase is really cool, actually. They’re like a KISS ARMY with a surprisingly sentimental new age side. People might not think so but most of their fans are introspective and kind and into this brotherhood thing. And they’re not judgmental. Compare them to Dead Heads. Like if you’re an obvious outsider, like a dude in a suit, Juggalos will be far more inviting than Dead Heads were. Dead Heads were like we found the answer but Juggalos are like we found something we like. Like as long as you say openly you’re not a Juggalo and you’re just a casual fan they’re like cool. Dead Heads were always like oh you just don’t get it man.
