i dunno why the comparison matters anyway, King Crimson aren't (from what i've heard) a boring prog rock with nothing much to offer outside of one phenomenal album and a couple decent but incredibly overrated ones. |
The comparison is that it's a pleb opinion.
|
when did people start using the word pleb as a synonym for correct?

I find it hard to take the Piper only crowd seriously because it's as bowrrrring as DSOTM. |

To get your money's worth out of ten artists, I figure that you want people who have a big fat discography. That means that my list looks like this:-
Folk:- His Bobness, the Dylan of Zimmermans Van Morrison Rock:- Captain Beefheart Phish Can Jazz:- Hugh Masekela Soft Machine From around the world:- The Super Rail Band Lars Hollmer in all his incarnations Man who can't be squeezed into a genre:- Moondog And supposing you had to live with somebody else's list? I'd perhaps go with Frownland's. I don't think I'd risk Janszoon's because of his ten chosen artists, I've only heard of one. His choice is definitely the most obscure so far imo. |
I just thought of something. If you are stranded on a deserted island, where is the electricity going to come from? :D
|
1.Black Sabbath
2.Deep Purple (In Rock is maybe my most fave album ever) 3.Led Zeppelin 4.Rush 5.Queen (70's stuff only) 6.Yes (70's stuff only) 7.Iron Maiden 8.The Who 9.Guns N' Roses 10.Thin Lizzy Not easy picks, there are many of them who would be super close to these listed bands. |
Ten is good...The Temptations-The Miracles-The Four Tops-The Impressions-Major Lance-Wes Montgomery-The O'Jays-The Spinners-The Marvelettes-The Moments.
|
Honestly I've listened to way too many of my favorite artists' albums to death, so I don't see any reason to pick artists I'm interested in and who got a bunch of **** to check out. I'll take the chance on not digging them as much as I'd like and I'm sure I'll force myself to like them after a few years anyway.
1. Black Sabbath 2. Slayer 3. Reverend Bizarre 4. Ke$ha (not many albums but I can't leave her behind) 5. Townes Van Zandt 6. John Coltrane (gotta have an artist I'm interested in with a big discog to explore) 7. Wu-Tang Clan (collectively and solo) 8. Rolling Stones (lotta albums, pretty eclectic, and I haven't heard the majority of their albums) 9. Blut Aus Nord 10. Gorguts (not my fav DM band but I need one and too many bands have only a small handful of good albums and/or they all sound the same) |
you can’t have solo albums too with Wu-Tang, that’s clearly cheating.

it's people like Charles who make Trollheart the way he is now with his rules.
|
**** if I care about you Nazis. I'm taking my Wu-Tang albums to my desert island where I don't have to hear you whiny ****s. BTW if I have electricity to play music does that mean I have a house, air conditioning, and video games?

They're collectively the same artist, they make far more highly linked music than your average solo artists, and they're even generally produced by the same guy. I call shenanigans on you.
|
Miles Davis Quintet (group and solo projects)
|
So put them on your list if you want. I'm not Trollheart. If Goofle wants to **** on me then I'll pick something else.
