I don't think I've ever heard about that Rory Gallagher person, so I would have never guessed that. Not that it was right anyway.
Wouldn't have guessed Maiden. I thought all things metal were more of an experiment for you yet.

Maiden were my first ever metal band, and after them I got into the likes of Motorhead, Saxon, Tygers of Pan-Tang, Diamond Head and the English bands, mostly from the NWOBHM era. I was never that much into the American bands, hence my lack of experience in thrash metal and other extreme metal. In the last few years (mostly through the Metal Month specials in my journal and with Batty's help) I branched out into everything from doom to black metal, and even a little avant-garde (which I hated), but no, I'm no metal virgin, as such.
