![]() ![]() Album title: Highway Queen Artist: Nikki Lane Genre: Country/Outlaw Country/Americana Nationality: American Release date: February 17 Position in Discography: Third Fear Factor: Moderate Familiar with this artist? No Familiar with the genre or subgenre? No Average RYM Score: 3.23 No jokes, please, about feeling horny! OK then, this is decent. It has teeth, and she doesn't sound like some pop star trying desperately to be a country girl. Nice sort of almost Bonnie Raitt raspiness to her voice. Don't think ICP would fancy the opener: “700,000 Rednecks”! There's a lot of rock mixed in here too: “Lay You Down” is good but “Jackpot” is too cheesy Elvis for my tastes, and “Companion” also looks to the fifties for its inspiration. “Foolish Heart” is good, but there's something about this that just isn't speaking to me. Don't know what it is. I guess it's a decent album but I kind of don't like it. Check out more from this artist? No Check out more from this genre or subgenre? Yes ![]() Expectation Index: 7
