And if you just so happen to want to hear some of the metalcore that defined the early genre while being more offbeat and interesting.... srsly though any fan of metal who hasn't heard this basically has an incomplete knowledge of metal. This is one of the albums to not hear if you want to be a mindless twat who hates 2000s metalcore with no knowledge of what it can be when it's done right.

Yeah.. if I care for either (which I really don't) then it's the Unbroken one. The other I have no interest in. In fact, I really doubt I can be interested into this genre at all. It just says nothing to me and does nothing for me.

You figured wrong. What in the name of Satan made you think I would like that? As Occult would say, to me, it's hot garbage. I'd rather listen to the long drawn-out death rattle of a man suffering from terminal flatulence.

No. I'll let you away with that one. And in fairness, I should have reviewed it as part of the list anyway so it's kind of not really your fault my ears were assaulted by that ... um ... um ... what shall I call it? Noise?

Album title: Coloring Book
Artist: Oh My Girl
Genre: K-pop
Nationality: Korean, duh
Release date: April 3
Position in Discography: Fourth EP
Estimated Rating:

Familiar with this artist? No
Familiar with the genre or subgenre? No but having to listen to a lot of it!
Average RYM Score: 2.59
Ah, K-pop! Where would I be without ya? Every single goddamn month so far, K-pop groups seem to release a slew of albums in the first few days, so here we are again. At least it's pleasant and upbeat, cheerful and fun, being a girl band, which is something I can't say for the boybands, who always seem to take themselves too seriously for me. Anyway, this is yet another EP (EPs seem to be big in Korea) so it's only five tracks and just over a quarter of an hour long in total. Decent mix of music on it, to be fair; nothing earth-shattering, but who's expecting that? “Agit” (a git?) has a nice sort of semi-balladic feel to it, while there's a proper ballad in the whimsical “In My Dreams”. Very nice. A fun album, for sure. Yeah, ok: EP. Whatever.

Check out more from this artist? No
Check out more from this genre or subgenre? Only for this thread
