Except he'll be like, I didn't like Kesha before this, but this is actually a pretty good album, so even while I'm still not a fan, this is still a decent album. Callin' it.

Quite possibly. I won't burn it down on general principles. If it has something, I'll say it. I'd do the same for anyone. I won't pretend I like something I don't, but I also won't pretend to hate something I really don't. I value honesty and integer, sorry, integrity above all in my life.

Album title: Moh Llean
Artist: Why?
Genre: Indie Rock/Hip-Hop
Nationality: American
Release date: March 3
Position in Discography: Fifth
Fear Factor: Low
Familiar with this artist? I've heard one album, I think I enjoyed it
Familiar with the genre or subgenre? No
Average RYM Score: 3.03
Okay, this one's for Steph, who introduced me to Why?'s Allopecia, which I seem to remember being impressed with. As I am here. This is really nice stuff, really pulls you in. Don't hear anything approaching hip-hop yet, but then, we're only three tracks in so I guess there's plenty of time. Well no, we're at the end now and I've heard nothing I recognise as any sort of hip-hop, but what I have heard is a very good album, which may have kicked us back on track for this month.

Check out more from this artist? Yes

Album title: Halfway Human
Artist: Within the Ruins
Genre: Deathcore/Prog Metal/Metalcore
Nationality: American
Release date: March 3
Position in Discography: Fifth
Fear Factor: Low
Familiar with this artist? No
Familiar with the genre or subgenre? Some of it
Average RYM Score: 3.13
So we're back to deathcore. This doesn't have quite the same complexity or flow as the Born of Osiris album, so I couldn't quite call it prog metal, though there are some nice parts in it. The vocals are definitely death metal, but then they throw you off guard by bringing in some really nice melodious parts, more indicative of prog metal really. The vox are a little off-putting, I don't know: I kind of want to like this, but I kind of don't, or at least, not as much as I had hoped. Maybe it just isn't that good. Yeah, I think maybe that's it. I'm trying to like this, and I kind of do, but I certainly don't love it. Some good musicianship, but nothing is sticking in my mind and it'll be totally forgotten by the time I move on to the next album.

Check out more from this artist? Probably not
Check out more from this genre or subgenre? Maybe

Album title: We are X
Artist: X Japan
Genre: Heavy Metal/Power Metal/Symphonic Metal
Nationality: Japanese
Release date: March 3
Position in Discography: Sixth, but first soundtrack
Fear Factor: Low
Familiar with this artist? No
Familiar with the genre or subgenre? Yes
Average RYM Score: 3.69
If you're into your Japanese metal, apparently you should know these guys. They've been around since the eighties and are the first Japanese metal band to have commercial success on an independent label. It says here. Me, I have very little experience of Japanese metal. Flower Travellin' Band, Sigh, Vow Wow, that's about it. Nobody dare mention Babymetal! This then is the soundtrack to the documentary of the same name. Oddly enough, kicks off with a beautiful, fragile ballad, then powers right in, going for the throat. Nice to hear some good old power metal! Great mix of heads-down power metal and some really lovely ballads. Must check out more from these guys.

Album title: Feel 'em
Artist: Btob
Genre: K-Pop
Nationality: Korean
Release date: March 6
Position in Discography: Tenth EP; twelfth overall
Fear Factor: High
Familiar with this artist? No
Familiar with the genre or subgenre? A little by now
Average RYM Score: 2.28
Surely that's a bad choice of album title, no? Btob stands for, in case you're vaguely interested, Born to Blow. Sorry, that's a lie: stands for Born to Beat. I prefer my interpretation. And this album is superb. That's also a lie. It's grabage. Sorry, garbage: still got George Takei on the brain from the sexual misconduct thread. Come to think of it, the title here also kind of ties into that. About the most interesting thing about it, though. At least it's only five tracks, which is five too many.

Check out more from this artist? No
Check out more from this genre or subgenre? Looking at the list, it's K-pop all the way for some time now...
