Album title: Palisades Artist: Palisades Genre: Post Hardcore Nationality: American Release date: January 20 Position in Discography: Third Fear Factor: Moderate Familiar with this artist? No Familiar with the genre or subgenre? Not really. A little. I get by. Oh here we go again! Another band who couldn't think of a name for their new album and decided to self-title it. I'll never understand that thinking. Anyway, Post Hardcore and I have had a tumultuous, seldom successful relationship and I can't really remember if I've yet heard a PH band I like. The screaming/roaring is a bit offputting in anything other than metal, and then it changes to an almost emo-like vocal, then back to growling. Odd. Yeah, I dunno. It's okay I guess, but maybe it's just me, but this is kind of all blending together. I'm sure fans of post hardcore will love it, but it's not really for me, not at the moment anyway. Maybe it needs a few more listens. It won't be getting them, not here anyway. Check out more from this artist? I wouldn't be in a hurry Check out more from this genre or subgenre? I won't give up on it just yet Expectation Index: 0

I usually take a late career s/t as an artist saying that it's their defining/most matured/best album. That's why WISSK hasn't released an s/t yet, at least.

Reggaeton!!!!
Awww ya!! Any Zumba junkie can tell you about Reggaeton! I actually dig this a good deal. Actually, I had a welder who worked for me who was from Puerto Rico and I called him Reggaeton. Reggaeton has a very rich history in Puerto Rico and New York. You could be arrested for listening to it in PR back in the late 1970s and early 1980s. I was born in NY and had many PR friends in high school. |

I think it's more common for it to be a change in sound.

You'd have to listen to Ivy Queen, Tego Caldron, Daddy Yankee, Don Omar to get a good sense of it. Nicky Jam is just kind of laidback in comparison to others. I wouldn't know if the lyrics are violent though from others because my limited Spanish doesn't help translating their stuff.
