I'm not a fan of them. I feel they improved vastly once they lost Wood.

Album title: The Seven

Release date: April 14
Position in Discography: First collab
Estimated Rating:

Average RYM Score: 3.00
Oh this is good! African tribal beats give way to a kind of jazzy horn ensemble with some damn fine rapping and chorus (gang?) vocals. Again, just an EP, though this has seven tracks. Great stuff so far, some excellent samples, great lyrics, wonderful interplay. “In the Field” is one of the most hard-hitting songs I've heard in my incredibly limited journey through hip-hop so far, and “Teleprompters” keeps the quality super high. Yeah this is pretty sweet.

Album title: Irgendwas gegen die Stille

Nationality: German
Release date: April 14
Position in Discography: Debut

Average RYM Score: N/A
Ah, wonderful! Another talent contest reject, this time from what I assume is the German equivalent of X Factor/The Voice/Deutschland Gott Talente/whatever. It's quite hilarious (and I'm saying this before I hear his music, so I might need that plate again but whatever) that the person writing his Wiki page trumpets that Weiss finished in the “top 29 contestants”! It's hardly winning it, is it? How many were there: thirty? All right then, we've poked our fun at him, let's see if he can sing. Unsurprisingly, it's all in German. And it's pretty generic. I mean, it's all right, as far as it goes, but there's nothing here that really makes me glad I listened to this, or want to listen any further. Total meh.

I used to feel that same way, but they've really been growing on me these last few months.

I like ELO, especially up to Face the Music (though latter day ELO isn't all that bad either)

You probably need some Weedol then.

Reverse for me: I'm an Out of the Blue/Discovery/A New World Record guy, back to the likes of Face the Music, El Dorado (one of my very favourite ELO albums) and On the Third Day, but not really back after that. Secret Messages, Time, Balance of Power, even Zoom ain't bad.

Face the Music is probably my second favorite of theirs, after Time. I don't care what anyone says, Time is glorious and adorable and deserves more love.

Ped, can you recheck your list you gave me for albums not on the Wiki list please? Varg is coming up as an April album, and I'm not doing them yet. Only albums that weren't on the list for March, which are being done with the April reviews, ie now. If I'm not wrong and that's the case, can you choose something to replace Varg? Thanks.

My favorite is probably Eldorado. Maybe their first album would be my second favorite

All right then, as you ask: in order...

Out of the Blue
El Dorado
Discovery
A New World Record
Time
Secret Messages
Face the Music
Zoom
On the Third Day
Balance of Power
Xanadu
