Be my guest. Don't say you weren't warned. TBF, maybe someone taking their time over it might enjoy it more (though I doubt it) but trying to review thirty tracks of this while so much else waits in this month is just too tough.

The Guardian actually has a good overall track record imo.

Haven't listened to anything but their debut, but it's a pretty fun record.

Album title: Let the Dancers Inherit the Party
Artist: British Sea Power
Genre: Indie Rock
Nationality: English
Release date: March 31
Position in Discography: Seventh
Fear Factor: Low
Familiar with this artist? Yes
Familiar with the genre or subgenre? No
Average RYM Score: 3.24
I loved BSP's From the Sea to the Land Beyond, and though that was basically a soundtrack, and so mostly, if not entirely, instrumental, it gave me a real taste for their music. This album continues that powerful, upbeat, almost joyful way they have of writing classy pop songs that just stay with you. “International Space Station” is a good example of this: catchy as all hell but not derivative or cliched in any way. “What You're Doing” has a hook to die for, while there's a lot of Bowie in “The Voice of Ivy Lee” and there's an almost new-wave thing going on in “Keep On Trying (Sechs Freunde)”. This album has so many hooks it could, well, you know: insert your own hook-based metaphor here.

I think I'd like to hear a ballad though, just for a change. Oh, and just like that, “Electrical Kittens” (what?) slows things down and is a beautiful song, possibly the standout on an album on which I already thought I had picked the standout. I'm beginning to think it's going to be hard to find anything here I don't like, even love. Each track seems to be as good as, or better than the last. Yeah, I was right. Not a single weak song.

Check out more from this artist? I already have all their discography
Check out more from this genre or subgenre? Yep
