I guess the name does sound like it could have been German, but it's not. As far as I understand it, they intentionally picked a band name that doesn't mean anything, so that it would exclusively refer to the music of the band. They've got a pretty unique discography behind them at this point, so I wouldn't even say it was a pretentious move.

They were awesome up until around Killbox 13. Maybe a couple missteps along the way. My favorite album of theirs is I Hear Black so I'm still a total heathen.
