I was honestly thinking that I could just skip through if it was too unbearable.

No, just a suggestion. I'll go with whatever everyone is comfortable with. And what makes you think it's all going to be mediocre music? Some of it may be (say it with me) unassailable!

I was thinking too about what happens if a really well-known album comes up, as it may, from time to time. In that case, I think we all vote to see do we do it anyway or get whosever turn it is to pick again.

Ok, but if we decide to do this daily, I have one caveat to suggest, which is that there should be an upper restriction on the duration of the album chosen. 1h 20min (max. length of one CD) sounds good to me in that case. That is to say, any album generated by the randomizer which exceeds that length is automatically disqualified and a new album is generated.

If we instead decide to go for a weekly basis, we could maybe extend the limit beyond that, or we could drop the restriction and use a flexible schedule where the time intervals between albums is determined by the length of the last album generated.

As for who generates and post the each album, it makes literally no difference, as I assume the randomizer works the same for everyone, but sure, we could do a sort of fun thing where we each take turns generating an album (although it may take some waiting around for certain people; maybe Troll can just do it whenever someone's taking too long)

Why is there a signup sheet? If it's a randomized album then what is the point of having a member list?

It's just a pledge of sorts, isn't it?
If you sign up, you state your intention to participate regularly and take it seriously.
If you fail to meet those lofty standards, it implies that you will willingly commit seppuku so TH doesn't have to hunt you down and bore you to death with a full readinging of the club rule sheet.

Worse. Much worse. They who break the rules of the club shall be subjected to a full listen to the entire discography of Marillion. Yes, even the live albums! I'm not ****ing around here, folks! You think I won't do it? You don't think I'm that crazy, that cruel? Just try me. Go on, punks: give me a reason!
