Maybe Beach House?

Probably a Vektor album.
I would love to say Clutch's Earth Rocker or Psychic Warfare, but I don't know if Clutch will ever be popular enough to reach classic status among many music fans unfortunately. |
Cleric - Regressions
Grimes - Art Angels Swans |
Probably The Midnight and their ilk from the synthwave scene. GUNSHIP's album last year was a massive sensation on Reddit too.

Agree with much of what's been said to this point, would also like to throw fleet foxes, the national and lorde into the conversation. Tons of mainstream/critical appeal while being liked or at least tolerated by 'real music fans' as well

Mac Demarco is so fucking boring, so yeah, 2 will probably be a classic.
|
I realize Ys is Joanna Newsom's crowning achievement but I feel like two albums that follow it will be considered classics of chamber folk.
|
I think that Hans Zimmer penetrated the public consciousness this decade.
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard SOPHIE, if she releases some good followup material this year Kanye's releases this year will be considered classics Matana Roberts the jazz goddess will definitely be a genre legend Flying Lotus BADBADNOTGOOD |

Most definitely Flying Lotus and King Gizzard. I'm not sure about BBNG cause I haven't seen their albums get massive acclaim like many others in this thread. I could be wrong though and haven't looked in the right places.
I would also put forward that many vaporwave artists are going to be looked back on with somewhat legendary status (not specifically for how good their music was but more for the cultural phenomenon it represented), such as Macintosh Plus/Vektroid, Blank Banshee and MACROSS 82-99. |
