Waiting for a prescription down in the chemist, sat down and read a little more (well, re-read) of Dracula. Cool.

If it's an attention thing with Dylstew though, I doubt audiobooks will help, as you still need to be able to concentrate and follow what's being said.

The ideal solution, which Karen and I hit upon, is for me to read out the book. My rates are ten Euro an hour and all the biscuits I can eat, plus travel expenses and, if required, accommodation, though I can if necessary sleep under your bed...
I got you, dog.

Sometimes my mind drifts and I have to rewind but it generally isn't an issue. Between commuting, going to the gym, going grocery shopping, doing chores, and other assorted boring activities, I probably spend 3-4 hours a day listening to audiobooks—more time than I spend listening to music I think.

Dylstew, what kind of movies do you watch usually? Sometimes a simple change in viewing habits can be an eye opening experience.

About a year ago now I was tired of watching WWE cause everything felt like a rehash of everything they've done before. I watched NJPW once, and their was enough similarities that it felt warm and inviting, but it was different enough that it was new and exciting.

I've only read 2 manga (parasyte and Homunculus). Really digged the format, actually. I should probably read some.Have a walking dead comic lying around, my only one, but I keep forgetting to read it

I usually just tend to watch whatever is thrown at me in movies but I recently discovered I'm kindof into psychological thrillers? It's a new thing to explore, that's for sure. Evangelion and fight clubs elements of it piqued my interest into watching a full on psychological movie.
Watched Pi and Requiem for a dream after and forgot to continue. I should watch Memento.

Most shows I watch are just comedic animations like rick and morty, archer, southpark, boondocks, etc. Not too into tv. Seen a few anime too. Rick and morty and evangelion are my all time favourite shows. I do notice tv shows are often too long for me, but I like being able to do it in chunks.

Well if you need comic suggestions then I'm one of several possible men here to satisfy you. I don't know if I'd start with The Walking Dead tbh. As far as I can tell the show improved on the comic, which had a lot of mediocre character drama. I get the feeling it got popular not so much because of its quality than because it was a different kind of zombie thing that came around at the right time.

But first and foremost you need Alan Moore in your life. Watchmen, Swamp Thing, and Miracleman would be my top suggestions, but V for Vendetta and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen are highly praised (for no good reason I still have yet to read them myself). You don't get much more brilliant than Alan Moore.

Don't think I've ever heard of that. And just about anything by Grant Morrison is also compulsory reading.

I want to go off topic for a sec and say that before this meltdown of being burnt out by music, I had already fallen in love with Sparta - Wiretap Scars. I just.. don't get it but.. For some reason this album makes me feel so nice and peaceful. It makes me feel emotional. It kind of makes me want to tear up sometimes in a positive way. It's just so pleasant, and the songs are catchy and memorable to me unlike many others.

I don't know why, but no album has made me feel this way purely on music, not lyrics. On RYM, it doesn't seem to be seen as something too special. It doesn't stand out much to people. Yet somehow it moves me. Some there compare it with emo but I think it sounds different and stuff like mineral and sunny day don't make me feel this. It has a sound that theoretically I shouldn't like this much. From past opinions, I should find a lot of this boring, too formulaic, and I should find it a bit too commercial sounding and poppy, though I'd always love those raw sounding shouts. Yet I'm in love with most of it. I don't get it. Hell, there's albums I've also been falling in love with such as those of bears vs shark I think are better as albums and I have more "fun" with, but this album somehow touches me. (Tho, there's a few bear vs shark songs that do this too for me unlike most other artists). My rationality says it's not that special, yet my emotions feel things a lot of music made for feeling this kind of stuff doesn't do for me.

If the bolded is a joke, fair enough; if not, I'd recommend against it. It's an amazing film, but you have to watch every second and keep your mind on it, and no offence but you've admitted yourself, that ain't you.

Again, Watchmen, great as it is, requires a lot of concentration. I was thinking more your Spiderman, Batman, Thor, kind of I don't want to say mindless but compared to Alan Moore, not quite requiring as much brain work? Man, that sounds condescending, but I'm sure you know what I mean.

I noticed the movies I need to pay attention to are actually good for me as there's constant stimulation. It's hard to lose focus when you can't afford to, and it's more rewarding to focus in those movies. Obviously I can't do too many in a row but after a few easier things, it's actually really nice.
