Tool.

I like Maynards voice and that melancholic 90's alt-metal aesthetic is pretty appealing to me, but their actual songs just seem to drag on and on for me. I can't listen to much Tool before I get horribly bored and need to switch it off. I feel like their songs don't have a very good flow or pace to them, plus their riffs get old fast. And all their songs sound the same. I don't like Tool.

I can totally get behind this. They just drag on. I actually remember liking some short semi joke b side they made once more than their actual album.

You have it backwards, Maynard is what pulls Tool down.

I don't know, It's not that I find him amazing, but I do like a lot about his tone and delivery. The only album I own with him is the first A Perfect Circle album, which I think easily beats anything Tool ever did. Still just a 7/10 album for me, but it's neat enough when I'm in the right mood.
