Maybe it's also an attitude thing. When first people have their minds set against something, it can be hard to shake them out of it.
Especially if people legitimately have zero interest in really giving something a chance.
It may well be a lost cause.

Some people are open minded, some are not. Some people are curious, some are not.

About distortion: Even a soft rock song by Bryan Adams will have distortion, so maybe you're showing your parents music that is a lot more distorted than that, or maybe they're just as chicken**** about distortion as my parents are when it comes to anything with chili in it

They also say punk music doesn't even have any rhythm.

Bitch even random noises can have rhythm.

I don't get how they can be so against it. Also that vid does sound like surf music from hell. I know distorted music that sounds more positive

Exactly. It's not very known for being melodic.. ****, the ''melodic'' sub genres have the melody of other regular music.

I was taking the start of some sentence from some show that popped up in my head. I also meant almost my entire family. I didn't mean it directly that way, in fact, I don't think I've ever called my mother a bitch in any kind of way before, because one I respect her and two she'd slap me into the hospital.
