That's actually pretty cool. For some reason something about the production and guitar tones doesn't tend to go well with me. Even when it's not supposed to be it tends to sound depressing to me, but that's not much of an issue with this one. I think I'm more ready to get into it now tho cause I've gotten over strictly wanting some form of vocal distortion and wanting a lot of happy sounding melodies/chords, and if it didn't have that needing a lot of aggression and energy.

I don't think I could get into gothic rock, from what I remember I was bored to tears when I listened.

I've thought about that a lot with Coltrane. I don't necessarily wish I had been there for the unwrapping of his sound or got to see him live but at the same time I do feel like I have a certain advantage of understanding for the music I did watch grow and saw live. So why wouldn't I want that for the Most High? I don't know.

Hey, that's the guitar/production sound that doesn't seem to go well with me. I'm getting more used to it tho. I mean, took a while before I started to like the instrumentals in aesop rock and now I love his latest album. I should be able to expand my taste in rock music if I try more.

Man I remember when I was trying to explore a ****load of other genres for the first time but got lazy. The amount of music is overwhelming.

After a while you start to learn that the ugliest sounds are the most beautiful.

That includes the indie/alt rock bull**** I thought I wouldn't like but am now getting into, and also the polished 2000's ATDI style ****

(In all seriousness I should explore post-punk sometime tho)

Gonna have to agree with elph for once. Post-hardcore has some good ****, but even though I don't like a lot of post-punk it's vastly more interesting and diverse. So far as I know there's no sub-genre of post-hardcore that incites my desire to listen to music I have no reason to think I'd like as no wave.

Well thing is I want to be able to appriciate a bit of all kinds of punk music. And well, I mostly seem to do so, except for post-punk. I really do think sometimes you gotta come back and retry certain things multiple times in a row because in my experience sometimes things just start to click. Either way, I never found it to be bad music, just not my thing atm. It probably never will be a thing I love, but I can see myself getting into more of it at the right time.

I mean, I sure as hell wouldn't thought I'd suddenly enjoy these other kinds of post hc bands. Took a while too. In this case it required a mindset/expectation change.

It's worth it though. My musical tastes have changed radically over the last 5 years and I think it's been a massive improvement. But I do it more during some months than others. You gotta remember to listen to all your favorite music too, otherwise, what's the point.
