Currently my favorite album of 2017, so far. I seriously doubt if there will be another album release this year to surpass it.

I'm sure that it's very strong conceptually and/or lyrically, but I listened to the first five minutes and couldn't get over the Dream Theater cover band element. If there are later songs in the album that deviate from that cheesiness, point me that way.
Anyway, here's a great album from this year.

Oh Sees - Orc If you haven't listened to this yet, you might as well be missing out on some of the best garage rock you haven't heard in a long, long time. At least since the last Oh Sees record. Not that mini album, but A Weird Exits. Really love the loudness to this album, and the strange, gothic/medieval type vocals. Should be on everyone's radar.

Albert Ayler Quartet: Copenhagen Live 1964 This is a new package and slightly changed title for the out of print Copenhagen Tapes. With Don Cherry, Gary Peacock, and Sunny Murray it's clearly unassailable.

At least he's consistent.
