I'll go with indie folk. It never feels honest or engaging, like the artists are just having a go at folk so they can dress like settlers and play the banjo. Oh and whatever genre you'd call Yngwie Malmsteen and Steve Vai.

Jangly indie fluff (with ukuleles and tambourines and clapping and mushmouth vocals) is equally bad I'd say. I always assume that that's what Zooey Deschanel's band must sound like even though I haven't heard it.

Indie is indeed boring assuming you're separating it from alternative in general. I'm not nearly enough of a bland, overly-sensitive twat for that ****.
