The album Clefsong51 is talking about was released in 1984, and you posted "Have You Seen Here" which is a song that was a hit in 1971. "Steppin Out" was the typical 80s Pop album for it's time. You really didn't disprove Clef.

The vinyl version I have plays at somewhere between 45 and 33 rpm

Also, although I can't find evidence of online the liner notes on this LP (that I own) credits Butch Vig for this work with Daniel Johnston

I like that the whole thing sounds designed to channel an all-encompassing misanthropy rather than just being misanthropic.
