I guess so. I'll say this though: what you just described is how I felt about Morrissey for about 20 years and then suddenly the Smiths hit me the right way at the right moment or whatever and I did nearly a complete 180 in my opinion of his vocals.

That's why I make a point of revisiting albums that are highly acclaimed by people whose opinions I otherwise agree with. You can never know when you're being obtuse. That's part of being obtuse.

I guess I've yet to hear the worst album of all time. But out of the albums I've heard, the first Sum 41 album takes the prize. Even back in the day when I was going through a pop-punk phase I thought this kind of sucked compared to All Killer No Filler.
