It has chunky tone and palm muting, sure.

That's another side of the band. They did so much. I'm sorry but it shows you don't fully understand their greatness. In a sense, they were like Sabbath and the Stones rolled up in one package. I'm not saying they're better than those bands but because their greatness approaches the infinite you can say things like that about them. It's very hard to overstate their greatness.

Why is not being a metal band a bad thing? I can clearly see their influence but I don't define their genre by that. They did so much.

I mean... It's not...

What frown said. Just because they are metal, which is all I am saying, doesn't make them bad. I love Zeppelin, I love DP more so, probably even equal to my love of sabbath. But they ain't metal.

DP has a heavier edge than Zeppelin, which pushes them into the metal realm imo.

You two don't understand Led Zeppelin. I already explained it. If you care to educate yourself read it again.

LOL. And most of metal isn't? You're funny.

How Many More Times has absolutley nothing to do with blues. Look up the word dullard. So many times your wanting to one up the previous poster gets into the way of sound judgement.

You need to work on that.

I'll await your uppity pretesious comeback.

Also, look up predictable. Your face is probably next to the definition.

Some day as you get older you'll discard the snark and actually become cool. I'll hang on as long as I can but I'm not getting any younger....

There is certainly an argument there. I just see the blues influence to be too prevalent in the majority of their work to be considered a metal band. You could make the case for a some of their tracks making it to that category.

But they don't reach the threshold needed to be considered a metal band. At least from what I have gathered.

Repeating "Muh LZ is metul" over and over doesn't make them metal, nor does it explain your position. Understanding the influence that Led Zeppelin had on metal is about as hard as 2+2. Get over yourself, deal with facts rather than baseless claims.
