Had this in my head today at work and listened to it like two minutes ago.

Contrary to what seems to be popular opinion here, I never really got the appeal of "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite". To me it just seems like a basic-ass song with a goofy circus music interlude. What am I missing??

...it's the Beatles....you know the Beatles?...and they're the Beatles? ....so you're meant to over analyse this subpar crap these drugged up Brits wrote before rock really became rock, analyse it more than Tool

i) no-one is obliging anyone to over analyse anything. The approach I would encourage is to listen and decide for yourself if you like it or not. ii) rock really became rock before Sgt. Pepper, not after. If it's your opinion, go ahead and call Sgt. Pepper "subpar crap" but to call the Beatles "drugged up Brits" is a cheap way to belittle an extraordinarily talented band, and on what basis? Because they are British and because they took drugs. As I understand it, some American musicians have taken drugs too, but I've never heard anyone on MB dismissing "drugged up Yanks".
