Was the first thing that popped into my head when I thought "techy guitar stuff" and then I was curious about a guitar nerd's impression of Gridlink.
Listen to however much of this as you want.

Bright and overly-saturated guitar is cool. Reminds me a bit of some LITE. Even maybe some of the stuff I was doing while on acid a few times. Freaking out at just the thought of producing sound from something and running with it for hours kinda thing. Around the 8 minute mark, when they finally get around to creating a less free-form structure to the noise is nice. The dissonance is ok, but after a while it's just annoying.

Kind of a We've Got The Beat but sped up and on crack rhythm, with an almost math-rock feel to it. A bit of a bridge around the 4:30 mark is a nice change-up, and the following build-up is ok. Descending, or I should say building up into audio clipping is a bit pretentious. The video was clever, but the whole time I was listening/watching I was hoping it would change into something cool, and it did not. Kinda bleh. If I was looking for something to really catch my ear, this wouldn't be anywhere near what I thought I was looking for.
