Default KI Steals An Idea: The **** I Listen To

Alright you got me. Since Matrix and Trollheart are both doing this, I am doing it as well.

However mine will be different. I won't be doing track by track analysis, but instead I'll be posting the album, and the best song from each album. If you can deal with that, things will go swimmingly.

My taste sucks, so don't expect any albums that you may even come close to liking. I fully expect this thread to be full of albums that legitimately suck.

Anyway. Onward we go.

Nice, I am excited to see what you post...

Artist/Album: The Weeknd - Beauty Behind The Madness
Year: 2015

Quick Thoughts: An album I never truly appreciated until after I became a humongous fanboy of Starboy. This album is definitely better in a lot of ways. I can certainly see why people prefer this album over Starboy.

Best track:
Spoiler for video:

Worth Checking Out?: Absolutely. If you're a fan of The Weeknd, this album is a must listen.

Scale of 1 to 10?: I'd give it a solid 8.5

I like this idea because nobody wants to write a long piece and nobody wants to read a long piece, which is why my previous journals have collapsed. Gonna check this out for sure.

Artist/Album: The Weeknd - Starboy
Year: 2016

Quick Thoughts: When you listen to this album after listening to Beauty Behind The Madness, you actually see that Starboy has more faults than you realize. It's still incredibly well done, but it definitely goes down a few pegs for me these days.

Best Track:
Spoiler for video:

Worth Checking Out?: Yes! It most definitely is still a solid album by The Weeknd and showcases his evolution as a hip hop artist. Really throws in some solid lyrics throughout.

Scale of 1 to 10?: Honestly, even though you'd believe differently from reading what I wrote at the beginning, it still holds a solid 9-9.5. I still think it's a fantastic album even if I see some faults now.

Artist/Album: Devin Townsend Project - Ghost
Year: 2011

Quick Thoughts: This was a fantastic and near perfect album back in 2011, and it still holds up to that prowess even today. I love everything about this album and I can listen to it non stop all the time. It has never gotten old.

Best Track:
Spoiler for video:

Worth Checking Out?: Yes, absolutely! If you're a fan of Devin's slower more ambient side, this is the album to check out if you've been needing it. I'd still say this is in my top 5 albums ever made (nothing year specific). I still love it as I did when I listened to it for the first time.

Rating of 1 to 10?: I'm gonna go all out and give this one a 10 because it's been a part of my listening life for a good 6 years. And it's maintained its beauty this whole time.

I guess I just don't get it Kiiii.... I've never been a fan of that record at all. For me it is Devin's weakest, or close to weakest. Sorry man... Maybe I'll give it another go though...

Artist/Album: Gorillaz - Humanz
Year: 2017

Quick Thoughts: When I first listened to the album, I thought "holy **** this is good". I listen to it now and I still think that. It's a pretty big album with lots of small tracks, but it's still really incredibly well done. I was honestly a bit surprised by how much I liked it.

Best Track:
Spoiler for video:

Worth Checking Out?: Go for it. I'd certainly say it's quite good. But I can certainly understand if you find faults.

Rating of 1 to 10?: A solid 7.5-8

It's all good my man. I know a lot of people seem to think of it as his weakest, but it's left a pretty good lasting impression on me.
