All of Think Tank's songs drag on way too long though, and Albarn becomes the lead guitarist (gag). No hooks either.

Their most interesting album is the S/T imo.

I never said he was better than Graham, but I do admire some his solo's most notably his stuff on Champagne Supernova (which I know Paul Weller played on in the recoding of their second album) but to write Noel off as a just another 'guitar strummer' is idiocy.

I think 13 does alos drag on a bit too much but atleast you had Graham's guitar parts other than Damon's power chords.

I dont think they drag on for too long. They practically reinvented themselves with that album.

It's so unfocused though, and not the cool kind. They try to expand too much and a lot of their diverse songs are generic.

I'm just now diving into blur's discography. I've listened to 13 a few times and am hooked.

Reading this thread, it's strange to see so much Think Tank hate going on. I think it's a blinding little album. I couldn't care less if it does or doesn't include Coxon or if it is or isn't an Albarn ego trip, it still sounds good to me.

I couldn't agree more. Whilst Think Tank is essentially an Albarn solo album with a couple of the boys from Blur lending a hand, I do not see why that should detract from what I believe is a fantastic album. It's the album that I return to the most out of their back catalogue.

Yes, I read pitchfork. Gotta get an identity somehow.
