Was #2 song of all-time I think on the Rolling Stone list and it's not one of there 30 best in my opinion.

Nothing pisses me off more than this. Seriously most people just assume they're a pop band because of this song.

Agreed, but... This thread seems to be turning into a "this song is overrated" discussion. Let's be honest. As overplayed and mediocre/awful/merely good as some Stones songs may be (Paint It Black, Brown Sugar, Sympathy, Mother's Little Helper), they're far better than the crap they released on Dirty Work, Undercover, Black & Blue, etc. And whatever you think of Should I Stay or Casbah or London Calling, the Clash have released stuff that's far worse. Even closet Sandanista! or Combat Rock fans will admit that there's some pretty lame stuff between those albums. I'd love to nominate Hey Jude, but I can easily think of dozens of Beatles songs that are far worse.

I agree very much regarding Owner of a Lonely Heart ..
I'd also like to mention "Isn't She Lovely" by Stevie Wonder. I never liked that song. edit : This is exactly the way I feel about it .. Great song!

Why are people picking songs by bands that aren't their most well known, which aren't even there worst?
Can't any thread stay on topic?

I feel that they twisted popular perception about them so that people believed they were first in encyclopaedias. Don't trust aardvarks myself.
Lol.
