Josh Ritter - under-rated genius!
Folks, why has Josh Ritter not had wider success?
His clever Americana rootsy-rocky-melodic-storyful songs deserve a big audience. I guess I could compare him to Bruce Springsteen, except Josh' last few albums have been much better than what the Boss has given us this decade. His standout records are probably "The Animal Years" and "The Historical Conquests Of..." and I would advise y'all to check them out without delay. You won't regret it. I love his melodies, his lyrics, his infectious enthusiasm for what he does...it seems a shame to see him slogging around small venues when he really should have made it big by now. His loyal audience love him, but it really is a mystery why he hasn't found the acclaim he deserves. He also puts on one hell of a live show, so if you ever get the chance - go! Any fans around here?
