This isn't the Music Banter Personality Review Club. You could review a Varg record without going into his personality, couldn't you? The music should be what matters (see here) http://www.musicbanter.com/general-m...rt-artist.html

If his personality is expressed in his music and Occult Hawk finds that personality grating then it only makes sense that he would find the music to be grating.

That would make stealing his time machine that much easier, wouldn't it?
I never stole ****. We both agreed.

I think the point is that the personality delivered in the music is obnoxious.

Completely agree. A person's personal life and personality should not effect how you enjoy / not enjoy the music. that's like saying you hate Nirvana because Kurt Cobain killed himself. See? makes 0 sense. If you put in the personality of said artist in your review, your review instantly becomes invalid imo.

Personality in the music is not the same as the person's personality in general. The two can't be intertwined.

You know full well I hate Johnny cos I hate the Sex Pistols and think their music stinks. I know very little about his personality, and care less.

I'm starting to like prog, but I'm still gonna agree.
