I'm not an elitist tbh. Just because I make you feel inferior does not mean that I am acting elitist or that I think I'm better than you. It usually just means you suck.

Also, I realized something about myself today, so I updated my review.

Patsy Cline is as good as Hank Sr. and Townes is an entirely different thing.

I'm more into Hank's voice, plus I find him much more musically interesting, especially when he takes a stripped down-approach.

Absolutely. The problem is (and you illustrated this in that discussion we had on Trollheart's journal)...you don't follow this approach at all most of the time. Which is a shame, since you are pretty sharp in most respects. Your 3/10 seems fine here though.

Well there are exceptions, I was mainly talking about the review in question.

I guess I can give it a shot for the conversation you brought up though.

Soft rock: If I was a boring white guy who thought that collecting stamps was the definition of a good time and that china sets were really neat, I would probably dig this, but it's just not for me.

It's sounds like you're saying you (partially) judge music based on whether or not you consider yourself the type of person who should like it. The only thing that should matter is how good the music is.

In my review I brought up the type of listener because you can only say that you find something uninteresting so many times before your statements become redundant. In any case, I don't think that Showcase is good. It's boring. It's dull. I guess using "inoffensive" instead of those words makes you pretentious. I hesitated calling outright bad because it was an album not trying to be what I consider a good album.

The soft rock review was a scientifically accurate description though.
