It would be better if people posted the album they are discussing even if it should seem obvious.

TH can't handle slightly innovative/non-pop music if it's of any consolation.

The more I hear the more I want to listen to this album.

It has the best tracklist I've seen since Anal Cunt's It Just Gets Worse.

So its got that going for it. Which is nice.

This week is going to be epic shit talk.. If it's any consolation Batlord told me he has been needing a reason to listen to MSI after I played a song in plug, so it's really his fault.

I love MSI, I used to listen to them back in early 00s.

This is going to be a great week. I just started it.

Frankenstein Girls Will Seem Strangely Sexy by Mindless Self Indulgence

I've heard this record before and like it.

Some bands blur genres by flipping from one thing to the next but this takes hip hop industrial funk punk and throws it all in your face at the same time with sincere juvenile joy. Like what if Ministry knew how to have fun? Post-modern creativity done in the purest spirit of rock'n'roll. Fun. Chuck Berry fun that refuses to be fenced in. Lyrically unrestrained. The music Oingo Boingo fans pretended they were listening to. 8/10.

Mindless Self Indulgence
Frankenstein Girls Will Seem Strangely Sexy

I've listened to this twice. Here we go...

I love the first 20-25 minutes of this album. Absolutely love it. Manic, chaotic, funky, energetic, weird and somehow it's built on a foundation of pop-punk. Kinda sounds like Death Grips and Franz Ferdinand hate fucking each other. I liked the variety of singing and rapping, the hip hop beats, the splashes of electronics. It manages to be both experimental and fun, which is something exceedingly rare to hear.

After that first half of so, it started to wear on me and I wasn't enjoying it nearly as much. I can't point to a specific song, but somewhere around the 40 minute mark or so, I was hoping this would wrap up. The songs started to slow down and lose their energy. My main complaint would be I think this album is about 5-8 minutes too long. Either it become stale for me, or MSI ran out of gas and I think it's for latter since I still loved the first half on my second listen.

Frankenstein Girls is a tonne of fun, I just wish this party had the lights turned on a bit sooner.

7/10
