That being said, we have yet to hear from
Exo
Anteater
DJ

and bob

so if you guys could get your thoughts in by the end of today that would be grand. We're moving on to Frown's album in the morning.
bish me too

MY OPINION (not that u asked for it (which is rude)) is that

i started out enjoying it, i liked the instrumentation on the first track but then that horrible singing started. can you even call it singing? well, whatever it was, it was awful. by the 3rd song, i had a migraine. i really did enjoy the music minus the vocals tho, if i was judging only the music i'd give it 7/10, but overall i give it 3.5/10

MY THEY'RE NOT THAT GREAT BUT THEY'RE OK songs were house of hits, memo to the man, ex-ravers

i HATED jackers, that is a **** song

No such luck.
Sorry man. I have 19 kids to keep track of here. It gets a little crazy sometimes.

Zack Hill - Face Tat

Not being all that familiar with Hill before spending time with Face Tat, I'm pleased to report I'll be looking more into his various recorded stints since this is a strange but quite compelling-in-places record. To these ears, he's drawing more on No Wave, Zeuhl and the Japanese noise rock scene than, say, Zappa or Beefheart, but that doesn't change the fact that whatever you want to call it or compare it too...still very well done. Moments that stand out to me include the skittering groove of 'The Primitives Talk', which comes off as a more neurotic take on the Talking Heads than anything else, and the distorted yet melodious 'Burner In The Video'.

The sheer chaos that defines this album isn't a game changer for me or anything like that (especially since there's always a weirder fish out there, e.g. Sleepytime Gorilla Museum and countless others), but I can see how this appeals to the Pitchfork crowd. I give it a strong 7.5 out of 10.

So this kind of reminds you of Magma or something similar?

I'm not trying to put you on the spot but can you direct me to any particular recording?

More Ruins and some of the less melodic stuff from Universal Totem Orchestra rather than Magma.

Ruins is a good comparison!

Give me some time to check out Universal Totem Orchestra.
