Okay. As far as Ant's idea is concerned: why would anyone assume there will be more interest or participation if we begin from scratch? And why would we? It's not the Album Club 2017, it's the Album Club. The only reason I put the year in the title is that there were older attempts at this that didn't work, so I immortalised the year I tried it, in the title. An Album Club 2018 is frankly silly. What do we do in 2019? Start a new one? And 2020? After that, of course, Trump will initiate nuclear war with anyone who looks at him cross-eyed, so that will be the end of it.

I don't mean to get at Ant, but no: if the club remains then who cares what the title is? If Ki or anyone else wants to join that's fine; there's no need to create a whole new thread for that.

So with that out of the way, let's consider. If this goes on, how many people are actually going to be taking part? As those who are already here know, there's no particular pressure any more to listen to this week's album this week. As in my case, I'm now two to three albums behind. But everyone should try to make some sort of effort, otherwise it looks as if, or it may actually be the case, the club is dying.

If people are fed up with it, fine. I don't mind, we can shut it down. I have three people at least (with one possible new addition) who are interested in keeping it going, so it would not seem to be dead yet. I'd like to hear from Frown, Psy-Fi and others as to what they think. I wonder if innerspaceboy could be tempted to come onboard? Or Mord maybe? Anyone else interested? If we continue, then we're out of a cycle very soon so that's a good time to join up if you want to.

I hope Psy-Fi gets involved. He comes up with the coolest stuff.

I guess I'm more concerned that you're trying to do too much and too fast, Trolls. Once a week for the Album Club is fine but it's hard to keep up when you post an album a day like you were doing with the Bowie threads. We're basically all here to relax for the most part. Some of us (like you) even want to talk about music. People won't bother with something if they're not having fun anymore. Anyway, don't think I'm trying to take your projects over; I'm not. It's just if you need help, I'm here

Uh-huh. Yeah. Sure. You guys are totally right about this stuff you're talking about.

So, uh...

ELO Classics when?

Psy-Fi is involved, and very much an active member.
I know what you're saying, and I appreciate it. I'm dropping the Artists Classics threads (if someone else wants to take it on, feel free) and concentrating on reviving my Genesis and Iron Maiden threads, and Listen with Trollheart, but I'm happy to keep this going as long as enough people are interested in it. Frown likes to keep calling it homework: I try to avoid it becoming that, but I also don't want people just participating too casually to the point where it becomes less a club and more a place people come to read the free newspapers.

I'm all for keeping the Album Club as the way it is. I was just offering a suggestion in case we were changing up the overall format or something like that. People like new shiny things after all.

That's cool. I'll take up the Artists Classics tomorrow. Meanwhile, I'm back in the Album Club. Gotta get that St John Green album on

As long as we have at least 4 or 5 people (hopefully, more) reviewing albums each week, I think it's worth continuing with it.

I'll stay in it unless it dwindles down to just 2 or 3 people.

The only thing I might like to see changed would be the polls. Maybe go with a 1-10 scale and/or make them public like the Classics threads to encourage more reviews.

I'll add you both then, and remove MicShaz.

Good idea. I'll see about doing that.

It's just a name. It doesn't really matter if it's called The Album Club 2017, The Album Club 2018, or Album Club. However I think we should make one minor alteration and call it "The Album Club since 2017."

Unless we come up with an entirely different format, then we should just stay the course and go about it the same way we always have been doing.

You've just pretty much paraphrased what I wrote. Are you actually interested in my opinion, or just using me to reword your own posts???
