If I need to review missed albums, I have no overview of how many I missed. Must have been just 2-3 weeks, 4 at worst. I'm fine with just being added to the end of the queue instead, actually.

Less participation one week would make it far less difficult to get back in the following week, since there would be fewer tracks to listen to.
There’s no law that says future participation is contingent on past participating. You could let people jump in and out as it suits them. It’s supposed to be fun, not a job.

I guess I'll re-join the album club
Great! What’s your next pick?

I’ll try my best to keep it fair but also fun. I wouldn’t be able to keep it as rigid as TH if I tried.

I was just thinking the only rule that seemed necessary was this: If you wrote a bit about the last batch, you get to submit one for the next week.
Just to have that as a carrot on a stick: Review things to get your own pick reviewed.

That would be the only rule.

Maybe it could work without. I dunno.

It might be a moot point anyway, since I probably won't make the thread anyway. At least not now.

What if the club featured 1 song from every single member, every single week. Instead of a full album. Then, any members that listened to & reviewed ALL tracks from the current week gets to submit 1 track for the next week.

That way, there would be a much wider variety of styles every week and it would be more fun and much easier to find something to say. For me anyway. I'd have more to say about 5-8 totally different songs than about 1 whole album of stuff I don't necessarily care much about.

I'll think about it a bit. It seems like a cool idea, but I'd like to simplify it.

Round Six

Well, for the next round I am picking the album Cyborgs Revisited by Simply Saucer in honor of (or remembrance of) Pet Sounds. The band is from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and it's one of the last recs I gave him before he moved on from MB.

Simply Saucer - Cyborgs Revisited (1989)

OK

We’re doing Elizabeth Cotten right now
