Default An Album A Day

I thought about making this a journal, but (1) I hate that journals need mod approval and (2) I'm really not big on writing. Anyway, I listen to at least one new album every day on Spotify, so this is gonna be a thread where I post that album, and MAYBE provide some thoughts/info. I'm gonna try it out for a week or two and see how things go.

That is all.

Edit: How the process works

I use Spotify for all my music finding nowadays. While I do appreciate a good rec, part of my love of music is the discovery process. Every day I go on Spotify and search for artists I already know or use grabs I have collected in plug. From there I go down the rabbit hole of related artists... I skip around through their top songs and then check out their albums and do some more skimming. When I hear sounds I like or if something unique happens to catch my attention I'll listen to the whole album. I used to do this on YouTube, but I found Spotify just has so much more to offer.

I don't know what you listen to besides Collective Soul, but expect a lot of variety... anyway so far today:

Jan. 16

Highly Suspect - The Boy Who Died Wolf (2016)
Solid modern rock. Good variety of sounds between tracks. I loved their first album Mister Asylum, which you may know from their single "Lydia". Awesome cover of Real Life - Send Me An Angel.

London Grammar - If You Wait (2014)
Includes a nice cover of Kavinsky - Nightcall. Love Hannah Reid's voice.

Jan. 17

Mulatu Astatke - Ethio Jazz Vol. 1 (2006)
Jazz is something I've been exploring lately, and this to me sounds different from some of the more classic things I've been reco'd.

Darondo - Let My People Go (2005)
Some serious soul right here. *thumbs up*

Never gave it a chance. Not big on musicals.
