Thanks for giving Hamilton a shot. The storyline is what hooked me—I only got into it musically as a side effect.

To quote Monty Python's Life of Brian: "You lucky bastard. You lucky, lucky bastard." A friend who went to see Hamilton sent me a bootleg video recording. That's probably as close as I'll ever get to the live show.

Fifty Foot Hose - Cauldron (1968)
Well... that was interesting? I feel like this is the beginning of all the noise stuff that Frown likes. The first half of the album was a song followed by a short sound sample track. Overall, it was somewhat enjoyable, but I was expecting it to be more like The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band than it was.
One of us, one of us, one of us.

I recced that one to you because I didn't know you were interested in psychedelic music and it's one of my favorites. Do you like West Coast Pop Art whatever better or were you just talking about expectations?

August Burns Red - Found In Far Away Places (2015)
It's been a while, but I can still understand what they are saying for the most part! Not that it matters cause I listen to this stuff more for the music. This was a pretty sweet album. Idk which one of the 50 billion metal genres Batlord would throw this in so I'll just call it metalcore/screamo to give ya'll a ballpark of what to expect if you do check it out.

Cryptic Wisdom - X's & O's (2014)
Mainly a hiphop dude, but he makes an attempt to sing and he's aight. His raspy voice has actually grown on me. This is the first time I've sat down and listened to an entire album of his. I thought it was pretty cool. Lyrical content is often dark and depressing, and there are some metal elements mixed with the hiphop and singing. This album actually caught me off guard, I was expecting to hear a lot of the same over and over with different lyrics, but there was a good amount of variety.

BOY - Mutual Friends (2011)
Clicked for the cute girl with beautiful eyes.. Stayed for the relaxing sounds and nice voices. Nice mix of slow and upbeat songs. I kinda wish I listened to the acoustic version, I'll have to go back and do that soon.

Yeah, I've definitely lucky to see it live and with beautiful arm candy.
I knew the basic jist of the Hamilton's story but seeing the play was a nice refresher.

Ooops missed this compliment. Thanks!

Back to your regularly scheduled program. Sorry for hijacking your thread so much.

Alicia Keys - HERE (2016)
Haven't listened to her in a long time.. Not at all what I was expecting, maybe that's just cause I haven't explored a lot of her discography. I thought there was gonna be more singing/piano type stuff. Regardless, this was a great album, minus the interludes. I wanna hear her beautiful voice not talking.. 16 tracks with 5 interludes is a lot of missed opportunities

Otis Redding - Pain In My Heart (1964)
It's nice to explore an entire album of older artists when I previously only knew their hit singles.. This album delivers.

Kehlani - SweetSexySavage (Deluxe) (2017)
Production was fine, and she has a nice voice, but all the tracks kind of sounded the same.. I wouldn't say it's bad, it just didn't hold my attention.

I've kinda avoided looking into Hamilton for this sole reason:

If it's better than this and the Epic Rap Battles of History thing I'm imagining I'll be all for checking into it.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

Just do what DJ said and listen to the mixtape.. There is a link in this thread for it, it was way better than the original soundtrack i listened to.

It's not meant to be funny like ERB, and it's not entertaining without the visuals that go along with it. I'm not a fan of musicals, but I think if I had a performance to watch along with the OST it would have been much better. The mixtape sounds a lot more like regular music than a musical.
